--:-- Ryan Hanley: If you go to the gym and work out, come back, and look in the mirror, you'll see nothing. If you go the next day and look again, you'll still see nothing. So, it seems like there's no results, can't be measured, it must not be effective. So, we quit. But if you fundamentally believe this is the right course of action and stick with it, commit to the regime, the exercise. You can screw it up, eat chocolate cake one day, skip a day or two, but if you stick with it consistently, I know you'll start getting into shape. Going to the gym for nine hours doesn't get you into shape. Working out every day for 20 minutes does. It's not about events or intensity—it's about consistency.
--:-- Ryan Hanley: My friends, today we're going to talk about cultivating a superpower. In a crude laboratory in the basement of his home. What's up, guys? Welcome back to the show. Today's episode will be short but hopefully powerful and important. I'm going to talk about consistency. You might say, "Ryan, you haven't been consistently putting out the podcast lately." And maybe that's true. But when in doubt, pull back. I've been consistently putting out podcasts since 2012. Yeah, I've missed a couple of weeks. It's been hectic and crazy. I haven't been sleeping. We've got huge things coming—big announcements. The rogue train is rolling down the tracks, and I'm excited to share that with you when the time is right.
--:-- Ryan Hanley: There are decisions to be made, money to be made, expenses to be paid, people to put in place, train, teach, and build processes. It can be overwhelming, monotonous, tiring. I don't give a fuck. Show up. Keep showing up. I found a clip from Simon Sinek that I've shared multiple times. I was scrolling through Instagram Reels because I use them to find drills for the Little League baseball team I coach. I love coaching baseball. If I could make money coaching, that's probably what I'd do. I love being around the kids. I saw this audio clip a couple of times with different images. It grabbed me every time. It stopped my scroll. It made me think about what Simon was saying. It hit me—consistency is a superpower.
--:-- Ryan Hanley: The best part is we can all cultivate this superpower. It's the superpower of success. It's not intelligence, good looks, or being quick on your feet. It's not about being a good salesperson, marketer, or leader. It's consistency. Can you show up every day, or as often as possible, and continue to do the work? To get one more piece of content out, send one more email, make one more call. When you look at people you admire, they're consistent. Of course, you can find moments of inconsistency, but the difference is they don't let micro moments wreck macro consistency.
--:-- Ryan Hanley: It's about showing up over time. If it's sports, it's extra ground balls, foul shots, forehands. If it's work, it's more calls, emails, posts. I do something for SEO every Sunday. Sundays are for SEO. You won't regret creating blog posts weekly. You might regret not doing any. Same with phone calls or texts to build relationships. When people know they can count on you, good things happen. You start to trust yourself, and that's the superpower.

Let's get back to the episode.
--:-- Ryan Hanley: We're ending the first quarter of 2022. I wish you macro consistency in your life. If I regret anything, it's allowing micro inconsistencies to wreck macro consistency. Don't let bad days or losses derail you. Come back and be consistent. It's not one blog post, one page, or one conversation. It's overall macro effort. I think about my personal life, relationships, and rediscovering my spiritual nature. Don't let little obstacles derail you from what brings joy and meaning.
--:-- Ryan Hanley: The best advice I've received and given is consistency. Show up, do the work. If you're bored, man up. Being an adult means showing up. If you want to be successful, make a plan. I wish for myself and you to become someone who trusts themselves. When you set your mind to something, you'll return until it's done. I wish you nothing but success for the rest of 2022. I'm out of here. Peace.
