--:-- John Bickley: Primetime host Tucker Carlson is out effective immediately at Fox News. The network announced his departure Monday morning in a press release, stating that his last show was last Friday.
--:-- Georgia Howe: This comes on the heels of the network also parting ways with another popular personality, Dan Bongino. Carlson was by far the top cable news host, drawing nearly 3.5 million viewers per night.
--:-- John Bickley: His exit follows Fox News settling a million-dollar lawsuit with Dominion over 2020 election claims. Fox News host Harris Faulkner made the announcement on air on Monday.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have mutually agreed to part ways. Tucker's last show was this past Friday. And starting tonight, Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 p.m. Eastern. It will be an interim show with rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.
--:-- Georgia Howe: In other media news, Don Lemon is also now out at CNN. In a tweet Monday, the Morning Show anchor said, quote, after 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.
--:-- John Bickley: Lemon went on to say, quote, it is clear that there are some larger issues at play. Lemon says he was informed of his termination by his agent.
--:-- Georgia Howe: In response, the network released a statement saying that his comments were inaccurate and that Lemon was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.
--:-- John Bickley: The United States has begun facilitating the departure of private U.S. citizens in Sudan who want to leave. According to White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, the U.S. has placed intelligence assets over the land evacuation route to help facilitate safe travel by land from Khartoum to the port of Sudan.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Here's Sullivan in today's White House press briefing.
--:-- [Audio clip of Jake Sullivan]
--:-- John Bickley: This happens from time to time and if you look back over the course of months and years you see military-assisted departures from embassies. You see, in some cases, non-combatant evacuation operations.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Charges were announced yesterday in the case of two Chicago teens who allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into another car, killing a six-month-old baby.
--:-- John Bickley: The alleged car thieves, who were 14 and 17 years old, slammed into the vehicle after blowing through an intersection. In addition to the death of the child, three passengers aged 34, 17, and 7 years old were treated at a nearby hospital.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The teens responsible received only misdemeanor charges. A relative of the family had this to say about the charges.
--:-- [Audio clip of a family member]
--:-- John Bickley: There's nothing that's going to bring us peace and joy. We can have all these people arrested. We can try and it helps a little bit, but nothing to us will bring us justice because at the end of the day, they stole a car and they stole our entire lives in that one instance.
--:-- Georgia Howe: President Biden welcomed to the White House today the three Tennessee lawmakers who faced expulsion for their role in gun control protest on the statehouse floor. The statehouse protest took place days after the shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville where three children and three adults were killed.
--:-- John Bickley: The three lawmakers, Representatives Justin Pearson, Justin Jones, and Gloria Johnson, approached the front of the House chamber with a bullhorn as protesters filled the galleries.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Anheuser-Busch has placed another top marketing executive on leave after Bud Light ignited controversy over its decision to partner with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for a paid marketing engagement.
--:-- John Bickley: Daily Wire senior editor Joel Needler has more.
--:-- [Audio clip of Joel Needler]
--:-- Joel Needler: Daniel Blake, who is in charge of marketing for the company's mainstream brands, has been placed on leave following the Mulvaney incident. Blake is the boss of Bud Light Vice President of Marketing Alyssa Heinerscheid, who was also placed on leave last week.
--:-- Georgia Howe: After the controversy erupted with Mulvaney, videos surfaced of remarks that Heinerscheid made during a recent podcast in which she said she had a mandate to move the brand toward more inclusivity.
