--:-- Georgia Howe: I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley. It's Monday, July 10th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
--:-- John Bickley: Former U.S. gymnastics doctor and convicted child molester Larry Nassar was reportedly stabbed multiple times Sunday night in a federal prison in Florida.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Here with more is Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce.
--:-- Tim Pierce: Nassar was reportedly stabbed in the back and neck in an altercation at the United States Penitentiary Coleman. The extent of his injuries is unknown, but he is said to be in stable condition. The prison housing the infamous doctor has staffing shortages, and the officers assigned in Nassar's unit were reportedly working at mandated overtime.
--:-- John Bickley: Nassar treated some of the most well-known figures on the U.S. women's Olympic gymnastic team, but is expected to spend the rest of his life in federal prison. He was sentenced after more than 150 women and girls accused him of sexual abusing them over a period of 20 years.
--:-- Georgia Howe: More than 9 million Americans are under flood warnings in northeastern states, including New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine. Heavy rainfall is causing mayhem and now flash floods and even landslides are expected in those areas.
--:-- [Sound of news report]
--:-- Georgia Howe: At least one New Yorker has been killed. Here's one New York woman speaking to Fox 5 New York.
--:-- New York Woman: The water just came up and the roof overflowed. Surrounded the houses. There washed away my driveway. That's down near the garage. You can see it all piled up. I know the basement's probably full of water, so it's probably about five and a half foot of water down there. I just hope it didn't affect the living area on the first floor.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Over 1,000 flights were delayed due to flooding, and Amtrak temporarily suspended service along the popular Northeast Corridor.
--:-- John Bickley: Yevgeny Prigozhin reportedly pledged loyalty to the Russian government in a Kremlin meeting with President Vladimir Putin just days after Prigozhin's Wagner mercenary group led a short-lived rebellion against the Russian president.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has the update.
--:-- Cabot Phillips: According to a Kremlin spokesman, the three-hour meeting took place on June 29th and included commanders from Prigozhin's Wagner group. The spokesman says the commanders presented their version of what happened, claiming they're still staunch supporters of Putin and remain ready to continue to fight for their homeland.
--:-- John Bickley: Raghosian's fate, however, still remains unclear. Though Putin branded him a traitor as the revolt unfolded and vowed harsh punishment, the criminal case against the mercenary chief was later dropped. However, he could still face prosecution for financial wrongdoing or other charges.
--:-- Georgia Howe: A Tennessee youth soccer coach has been arrested after police say pictures and unconscionable videos were allegedly found on his phone revealing that he drugged and raped unconscious boys.
--:-- [Sound of news report]
--:-- Georgia Howe: Daily Wire senior editor Joel Needler reports.
--:-- Joel Needler: In late June, 63-year-old Camilo Hurtado Campos of Franklin, Tennessee, left his phone at a restaurant, prompting a customer to hand it to employees. As employees went through the phone to identify its owner, they discovered the alarming content and contacted police. According to authorities, there is video evidence showing that at least 10 minors were raped. Two minors have been identified, but police are working to identify the other victims. Detectives said some were in such an unconscious state, they likely didn't even realize what happened. The victims are expected to be between the ages of 9 and 17.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Campos would allegedly recruit young boys at playgrounds and schools to join his soccer team before taking advantage of them.
--:-- John Bickley: A new survey shows that nearly 40% of undergrad students at the prestigious Brown University now identify as LGBTQ.
--:-- Georgia Howe: In 2010, just 14% of the Ivy League's college students described themselves that way. And a Daily Wire investigative report has revealed that the National Institutes of Health is funding research on the effects of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormone treatment on youth, despite acknowledgement from the grantee that these medical interventions can result in sterility.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Here with more is the Daily Wire reporter who broke that report, Spencer Lindquist.
--:-- Spencer Lindquist: Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, the director of an advocacy group called Do No Harm, slammed the study and guidelines. Quote, "Anyone who thinks a child reading this document will be able to give informed consent is engaging in a massive instance of self-delusion." Goldfarb went on to say, "Children simply cannot understand the impact of any of this on their bodies and on their future."
--:-- Georgia Howe: The NIH has doled out millions for similar studies around the country. That full report can be read on dailywire.com.
--:-- John Bickley: And a volcanic eruption has occurred in southwest Iceland near the country's capital, following intense earthquake activity in the area.
