--:-- Georgia Howe: I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley. It's Friday, October 11th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
--:-- John Bickley: Elon Musk unveiled Tesla's new CyberCab and RoboVan at a private event Thursday night in California.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The fully autonomous CyberCab has no steering wheels or pedals, and Musk expects production before 2027.
--:-- John Bickley: He also introduced the RoboVan design for transporting up to 20 people or goods.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Musk, who arrived in a CyberCab, said Tesla's vision for driveless cars is on track despite previous delays, and will be very affordable.
--:-- John Bickley: You can think of it like individualized mass transit. The cost of a cyber cab, we think probably over time, from the operating costs, including taxes and everything else, probably ends up being 30 or 40 cents a mile.
--:-- Georgia Howe: So yes, and you will be able to buy one. We expect the cost to be below $30,000.
--:-- John Bickley: Musk also showed off developments on the Tesla bot which he said could do various tasks like mow the lawn get your groceries and just be your friend
--:-- Georgia Howe: Musk says the Optimus bot will eventually cost [pause]

--:-- Georgia Howe: A watermelon? Yeah. Here you go. Thanks, Optimus.
--:-- John Bickley: Appreciate it. Of course, anytime.
--:-- Georgia Howe: An appeals court in New York expressed skepticism about Letitia James' civil fraud case against Donald Trump.
--:-- John Bickley: The appellate judges questioned if the law used to bring the case was appropriate for private business deals.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Two judges interrupted the state's lawyer, asking if there were any other instances where the law was applied to transactions between, quote, sophisticated partners, not vulnerable consumers.
--:-- John Bickley: All of the defendants repeatedly violated. Can you identify any previous case in which the attorney general sued under executive law 6312 to upset a private business transaction that was between equally sophisticated partners with the supposed victim had the ability and legal obligation to discover the allegedly misrepresented matters by conducting its own due diligence?
--:-- Georgia Howe: Where the supposed wrongdoer advised the supposed victim through written disclaimers to conduct its own due diligence, where the alleged misrepresentation almost entirely concerned inherently subjected valuations of properties and businesses, and where the victim never complained about any fraud in the transaction or losses from it.
--:-- John Bickley: And I want to add to his question and little to no impact on the public marketplace
--:-- Georgia Howe: They also voiced concerns about overreach with one judge noting that no one involved had lost any money Trump is appealing the nearly half-billion-dollar judgment for allegedly inflating his net worth to secure more favorable loans.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Tennessee has asked the Supreme Court to uphold its ban on transgender procedures for minors, opposing a challenge from the Biden administration.
--:-- John Bickley: Daily Wire senior reporter Mary Margaret Olihan has the latest.
--:-- Mary Margaret Olihan: Attorney General Jonathan Scrimetti argues that the state's law, which restricts surgeries and hormone treatments for minors, is constitutional and aims to protect children.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The Justice Department and the ACLU claim that the law violates the Equal Protection Clause.
--:-- John Bickley: A federal judge initially blocked the law, but it was upheld by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in September, and the Supreme Court is expected to hear the case in December.

--:-- John Bickley: He's proposing making interest on car loans fully tax deductible, much like home mortgage interests.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The former president announced his plan on Thursday in a speech to the Detroit Economic Club.
--:-- John Bickley: He says the plan will boost U.S. auto production and make car ownership more affordable for families.
--:-- Georgia Howe: We will make interest on car loans fully deductible. That's going to revolutionize your industry. This will stimulate massive domestic auto production and make car ownership dramatically more affordable for millions and millions of working American families. This is a phenomenal thing.
--:-- John Bickley: Trump also pledges to ban Chinese autonomous vehicles from U roads if he wins the 2024 election
--:-- Georgia Howe: His proposals are part of a broader push for tax cuts ahead of Election Day
--:-- Georgia Howe: A new swing state poll shows a tightening race between Harris and Trump.
--:-- John Bickley: Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has the latest.
--:-- Cabot Phillips: An Emerson College poll finds Donald Trump leading Kamala Harris in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina, while showing Michigan and Wisconsin tied.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Harris holds just a one-point edge in Nevada.
--:-- John Bickley: With all results within the margin of error, the race remains incredibly tight.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Analysts suggest Harris' path to victory may hinge on solidifying support in Michigan and Pennsylvania, where both candidates have ramped up their campaign efforts.

--:-- Georgia Howe: Nadal's decision follows years of injury struggles that have limited his time on the court.
