--:-- Georgia Howe: I'm Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley with Georgia Howe. It's Tuesday, February 13th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
--:-- John Bickley: Republicans in the Senate joined Democrats to pass a $95 billion national security package, which provides aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. On this vote, the yeas are 70, the nays are 29. The bill, as amended, passes. 22 Senate Republicans voted for the package, as did 46 Democrats and two independents who caucused with Democrats. Meanwhile, two Democrats voted no.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters that he hopes to speak directly with House Speaker Mike Johnson and urge him to step up and, quote, do the right thing.
--:-- John Bickley: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called providing assistance to the Ukrainians to defeat the Russians, quote, the number one priority of the United States.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Some GOP members, like Senator J.D. Vance, disagree. A few of my colleagues are desperate. They are desperate to get to Munich next weekend and tell the leaders of the world that, yes, they did not secure their own southern border, but they did the most important thing. They got the $61 billion to Ukraine. It's shameful. It is shameful to conduct foreign policy through blank check writing to never-ending war. And it is extra shameful to do it while ignoring the problems of your own country
--:-- John Bickley: A former business partner of President Biden son Hunter testified today before the House Judiciary Committee and accused Joe Biden of enabling Hunter to sell access to America's most dangerous adversaries.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce joins us with the latest. Tony Bobulinski's closed-door testimony is part of the impeachment inquiry in the House. The former business partner of Hunter detailed how the Biden family is linked to U.S. adversaries such as China and Russia, saying, The Biden family business was Joe Biden, period.
--:-- Tim Pierce: Bobulinski, who worked with Hunter in creating Sina Hawk Holdings with Chinese energy company CEFC, says he met with the president in 2017. He says that Joe Biden is clearly the brand being sold by the Biden family and says the now president knowingly allowed the U.S. to be put at risk and for laws to be broken through his influence peddling operation.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The Supreme Court has asked the special counsel in former President Trump's immunity case to respond within a week after Trump asked the high court to stay a lower court ruling.
--:-- John Bickley: Daily Wire senior editor Joel Needler has more. The Supreme Court today asked for the special counsel to file his response by the afternoon of February 20th. Then Trump's legal team will have another chance to respond, after which the court will issue a ruling at its discretion.
--:-- Joel Needler: This comes after a court of appeals rejected claims from the former president that he was in fact immune against charges he faces regarding January 6th. In their letter to the Supreme Court, Trump's lawyers argue that, with the election only nine months away, the appellate process should be allowed to play out, effectively delaying a trial indefinitely, especially given all the issues that have arisen.

--:-- Georgia Howe: Watley has served as the North Carolina GOP chair since 2019. He also currently serves as the general counsel for the RNC.
--:-- John Bickley: House Republicans are taking up a vote to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas once again tonight after last week's vote failed. The vote is once again tight, with the GOP unable to handle many defecting votes or absences as a storm hits a large part of the country.
--:-- Georgia Howe: If the vote pushes later into the week, the outcome of Tuesday's special election in New York to replace ousted Representative George Santos could tip the balance further.
--:-- John Bickley: The first of three funerals for the Army Reserve soldiers killed in Jordan in a drone strike by an Iranian-backed group was held today.
--:-- Georgia Howe: More than 100 people gathered in Atlanta to mourn the death of Staff Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, including his wife Darlene, members of his family, military officers, and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.
--:-- [Audio clip of General Todd Lazaroski speaking]
--:-- General Todd Lazaroski: Staff Sergeant Rivers exemplified the true meaning of leadership and friendship. Today, as we mourn his passing, we celebrate his legacy of love, kindness, and professionalism. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The funeral for Sergeant Kennedy Sanders is scheduled for Saturday in Waycross, Georgia, while funeral arrangements are still being made for Sergeant Brianna Moffitt.
--:-- John Bickley: More than 1,000 flights have been canceled today as a powerful nor'easter storm brings heavy snow and rain to the mid-Atlantic and New England regions.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The National Weather Service predicted the storm will heavily impact Pennsylvania, central and northern New Jersey, and southern New England.
--:-- John Bickley: And Sunday's Super Bowl 58 was officially the most watched telecast in history. The game brought in an average of 123.7 million viewers. That's the highest average ever recorded in the history of television.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The number accounts for the CBS broadcast, which brought in 112 million of the viewers, as well as Paramount Plus, NFL Plus, Nickelodeon, and CBS Sports, among others. The total number of people who tuned in for at least part of the game topped 202 million.
--:-- [Theme music starts playing]
--:-- John Bickley: That's all for today's Morning Wire.
