--:-- John Bickley: A mass casualty event in Baltimore. A Marist cargo ship hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing it to completely crumble and collapse at 1.30 in the morning. Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has the latest.
--:-- Cabot Phillips: The disaster took place after the massive container ship collided with one of the bridge's support structures. The scene was all captured on video. Cars on the bridge and a construction crew working at the time plunged into the 47-degree water below. Maryland Governor Wes Moore declared a state of emergency over the event. He says the cargo ship reported a power issue and issued a mayday a few moments before the collision with the bridge.
--:-- John Bickley: The governor says this is very much still a rescue operation as an unknown number of individuals plunged into the water. Meanwhile, the NTSB says they're investigating the incident.
--:-- Cabot Phillips: I'm going to get questions on fatalities and injuries, which I'm not going to answer. That is not something that the NTSB answers. I will refer you to local authorities on all of that information what I can tell you is a search and rescue is still underway So we are very hopeful And again our thoughts are with the families and their loved ones
--:-- John Bickley: President Biden also gave remarks addressing the situation. I told them we're going to send all the federal resources they need as we respond to this emergency. I mean, all the federal resources. We're going to rebuild that port together. This was a terrible accident. At this time, we have no other indication, no other reason to believe there's any intentional act.
--:-- Cabot Phillips: Baltimore's fire chief says two people were rescued from the river. One was said to be in good condition while the other was seriously injured. At least six people, maybe more, remain missing.
--:-- John Bickley: Trump media stock surged in its Nasdaq debut this morning, causing a temporary trading halt. The stock, which is traded under the former president's initials, DJT, made its public appearance Tuesday morning and quickly rose by about 50 percent to more than $70 a share, which brought the value of Trump Media and Technology Group, or TMTG, to more than $9 billion.

--:-- Georgia Howe: The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments today over access to the abortion pill Mifepristone. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Presa-Giacomo has more.
--:-- Amanda Presa-Giacomo: The high court appeared skeptical today of arguments made by the group seeking to limit access to the pill, as the Biden administration seeks to keep it widely available. The hearing stems from the administration's appeal of a lower court's ruling that would limit how the medication is distributed. The Solicitor General representing the Biden administration argued that a change to the FDA's ability to approve medications would have grave ramifications.
--:-- John Bickley: Meanwhile, the group legally challenging the drug, represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom claims the FDA failed to adequately evaluate the drug safety risks
--:-- Amanda Presa-Giacomo: RFK Jr has chosen a VP for his 2024 presidential run His pick, 38-year-old Nicole Shanahan, is a California-based attorney who was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin. She's also the president of the Baya Echo Foundation, which focuses on extending female fertility, criminal justice, and climate change.
--:-- John Bickley: Here's RFK. I also wanted a vice president who shares my indignation about the participation of big tech as a partner in the censorship and their surveillance and the information warfare that our government is currently waging against the American people. And that's why I'm bringing on someone with a deep inside knowledge about how big tech uses AI to manipulate the public.
--:-- [RFK Jr not explicitly stated, but based on context]
--:-- John Bickley: Kennedy has been pulling in the double digits and is expected to draw a significant portion of independent voters.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Donald Trump has been issued a gag order on his Manhattan criminal trial. Presiding Judge Juan Merchan imposed the order at the request of Manhattan's District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The decision came one day after setting the trial date for April 15th.
--:-- John Bickley: Under the order, Trump cannot make or direct anyone else to make statements about the witnesses regarding their roles in the Stormy Daniels Hush Money case. The former president is also barred from speaking about the prosecution and court staff.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Eight states have signaled that they will ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035. Daily Wire Investigations editor Brent Schur reports.
--:-- Brent Schur: Last week the Biden administration announced legislation called Advanced Clean Cars 2 which aims to reduce new car emissions by 50 To reach these goals the EPA believes 35 to 56 of cars need to be electric vehicles by 2032 EVs currently make up less than 8% of the U.S. car market. California has pledged to stop selling all new gas vehicles by 2032. That state was then joined by Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
--:-- John Bickley: The popularity of EVs varies widely by state. The five cities with the highest number of electric vehicle registrations are all in California. Hybrid cars are currently three times as popular as EVs.
--:-- Brent Schur: Egg prices are cracking new highs. Worldwide, the cost of a dozen eggs is more than double what it was in 2021, though it's down a bit from last year's record highs. A dozen eggs runs about $3 today. Inflation and bird flu are both contributing to the higher prices.
--:-- John Bickley: Over the past couple of years, more than 100 million poultry birds died or were killed due to respiratory infection.
--:-- David Anderson: Prices go up before Easter because all of a sudden we've got a little more demand, and it's because of Easter egg hunts. We do see prices go down once we're past the kind of the Easter holiday demand bump. That demand gets behind us and prices come back down again.
--:-- Georgia Howe: And the extradition of Julian Assange has been put on hold. London's high court ruled today that the embattled WikiLeaks founder can't be moved to the U.S., at least not yet. They say American authorities need to first guarantee certain things about his treatment, including his right to freedom of speech and protection from the death penalty.
