--:-- Georgia Howe: Amid intense scrutiny on USAID, the Trump administration is making deep cuts, now reducing staff from more than 10,000 to under 300. Most employees are being put on administrative leave or terminated, and at the same time, hundreds of aid contracts are being canceled. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is now overseeing USAID and says the move is necessary to regain control of the agency, which he claims is full of, quote, rank insubordination.
--:-- John Bickley: The U.S. economy added 143,000 jobs in January and the unemployment rate ticked down to 4%, signaling a slowdown but continued strength in the economy. These will be the last job numbers attributed to the Biden administration.

--:-- Ash Short: President Donald Trump is blaming last week's deadly midair collision near Washington D on what he calls an obsolete air traffic control system Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump vowed to push for a complete overhaul, saying the U.S. has spent billions trying to fix a broken system instead of replacing it. Federal officials have long warned about air traffic controller shortages and aging technology.
--:-- Ash Short: Now, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Elon Musk say a government task force will work to rapidly upgrade aviation safety.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Kash Patel didn't get his FBI confirmation vote, which was scheduled for Thursday morning. Senate Democrats have delayed it until next week. The Democrats requested a second hearing, arguing Patel has failed to assure them that he would keep the bureau independent from political influence. Republicans say Patel has already provided extensive testimony and records.
--:-- John Bickley: It's unlikely Democrats will be able to block Patel's confirmation, but they're hoping to convince some Republican senators before the final vote.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Trump's tax cuts are hitting a Republican roadblock. Daily Wire deputy managing editor Tim Rice explains.
--:-- Tim Rice: Republican infighting is slowing President Trump's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill. Disputes over spending cuts threaten a sweeping package that includes tax cuts, energy policy and border security funds. Fiscal conservatives want deeper cuts before moving forward. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans want border security to be their first bill.
--:-- Tim Rice: House Speaker Mike Johnson insists the House must take the lead, saying, the House needs to lead this if we're going to have success. White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt laid out the president's tax priorities on Capitol Hill.

No tax on senior social security No tax on overtime pay renewing President Trump 2017 middle class tax cuts adjusting the SALTS cap eliminate all the special tax breaks for billionaire sports team owners, close the carried interest tax deduction loopholes, tax cuts for made in America products. The president is committed to working with Congress to get this done.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The U.S. Coast Guard is ramping up its efforts to stop a surge of migrants into Florida. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has more.
--:-- Tim Pierce: The Coast Guard picked up a Chinese national floating on a paddleboard with a suitcase this week. The man was 25 miles off the coast of the Bahamas, which has become a jumping-off point for illegal immigrants. Last week, authorities arrested two suspected smugglers and 26 Chinese migrants after a boat from the Bahamas landed in Coral Gables, Florida.
--:-- Tim Pierce: Coast Guard assets, including cutters, aircraft, and boats, are being deployed to the waters near Florida and the Bahamas to deter these illegal crossings. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says Florida is shouldering the burden of Biden-era immigration failures and will act to protect local communities.

--:-- Georgia Howe: Big changes are coming if you're a Timu or Shein shopper. Americans could see higher prices on their orders as the Trump administration moves to curb tariff-free imports on orders less than $800. The policy change is expected to hit Shein harder than Timu since Timu has already shifted more of its shipping to bulk orders and U warehouses Analysts estimate the volume of these low shipments could drop by 60 percent The crackdown on tariff imports could boost U manufacturing and retail jobs by making domestic products more competitive and encouraging companies to produce more goods locally.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The U.S. is experiencing a second peak in flu cases right now, with both hospitalizations and deaths on the rise. 41 states have reported high or very high levels of the virus. Data from the CDC confirms at least 20 million cases and over 11,000 deaths. Though high, these flu numbers are about the same as they were before the pandemic.
