--:-- Georgia Howe: Hurricane Helene made landfall late Thursday with 140 mile per hour winds, devastating parts of North Florida. The storm struck near Perry, Florida, marking the third hurricane to hit Taylor County in 13 months.
--:-- John Bickley: Emergency crews are working to clear debris and assess damage in areas like St. Mark's, where floodwaters reached the rooftops of homes. Helene has now moved over Georgia, where 700,000 people are without power, and the storm is dropping up to 15 inches of rain over North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.
--:-- Georgia Howe: An 89-year-old woman was sentenced to three years probation Thursday for violating the FACE Act during a peaceful protest in Tennessee. Daily Wire reporter Leif LeMahieu was in the courtroom when Eva Edel, who is a survivor of a Yugoslavian concentration camp, testified about how her Christian faith inspired her pro activism.
--:-- John Bickley: She was prosecuted by the Biden DOJ for her role in a 2021 sit outside an abortion clinic where she peacefully sang hymns and urged women not to get abortions. Edel, who has been involved in pro-life protests since 1988, told the court her actions were driven by her faith and love for Jesus.
--:-- Georgia Howe: As many as 2,200 voters in Madison, Wisconsin, were mistakenly sent duplicate absentee ballots. The capital city is a Democrat stronghold. City officials say none of the ballots have been returned yet.
--:-- John Bickley: In 2020, Joe Biden beat Donald Trump in Wisconsin by a small margin of 20,000 votes. U.S. Postal Service CEO Louis DeJoy testified to Congress on Thursday that his 650,000 employees are fully equipped to handle the influx of mail-in ballots.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Democrats and Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee both voiced concerns. A looming strike by 45,000 dock workers led by the International Longshoremen's Association, threatens to disrupt East Coast ports and the national economy ahead of the election.
--:-- John Bickley: Daily Wire investigative reporter Mireille Lordi has the details on the potential strike scheduled for October 1st. Harold Daggett, the union's powerful and controversial leader, is driving this action, demanding significant wage increases and protections against automation.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Daggett has become known for openly criticizing the Biden administration's labor record. As the union master contract expires, a strike could severely affect supply chains and have an impact on the upcoming election. The U Maritime Alliance has filed an unfair labor practice charge claiming the union has refused to come to the bargaining table.

--:-- John Bickley: First Lady Melania Trump sat down for an exclusive interview with Fox News this week. She discussed the invasion of privacy she felt when the FBI raided her home and sifted through her bedroom.
--:-- Georgia Howe: She opened up about how difficult it was to watch the Butler, Pennsylvania assassination attempt on her husband on TV, saying she believes the country needs him and that's why his life was spared.
--:-- John Bickley: Finally, she blamed Democrats and legacy media for fueling the hatred of her husband. Is it really shocking that all this egregious violence goes against my husband? Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a threat to democracy, calling him vile names, only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power all of these people that they want to do harm to him.
--:-- Georgia Howe: This needs to stop. The country needs to unite. And I encourage everybody to read my letter that I wrote on July 14 again because that cannot continue.
--:-- John Bickley: For the first time in 12 years, students at Notre Dame University have chosen a Republican in their presidential straw poll. The poll, which is conducted by the newspaper The Irish Rover, shows Trump leading Harris among likely Notre Dame student voters 47.6% to 45.9%.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The survey of over 700 students also found that 65% disapproved of the performance of the Biden-Harris administration. Gender and religious divisions are evident in the results, with Catholic students backing Trump and non-Catholics leaning toward Harris.
--:-- John Bickley: Student Elizabeth Hale offered some insight. The results of this poll are really exciting, but they're not altogether too surprising. I think, of course, students are really fed up with Biden, Harris and their administration. But even more than that, they're really excited to vote for Trump.
--:-- Georgia Howe: There's a lot of enthusiasm for his immigration policies, his foreign policy, his stance on abortion. And I think, above all, his economic policy plays really, really well in a university setting.
