--:-- Ayah Batraoui: President Trump is due back in Washington in a few hours after hailing the ceasefire deal he brokered between Israel and Hamas.
--:-- Ayah Batraoui: He spoke Monday to the Israeli parliament and I'm reporting he stood with foreign leaders in Egypt.
--:-- Ayah Batraoui: This was an important summit. It brought together leaders from Europe, the Middle East and beyond, and it signaled that what comes next for Gaza will require international attention, including resources and boots on the ground.
--:-- Ayah Batraoui: These countries had been pressing for a ceasefire for a while, but ultimately it was Trump's intervention now that brought Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree and got Egypt and Qatar, the two mediators, to convince Hamas that releasing the hostages had Trump's guarantee of a permanent end to the war.
--:-- Ayah Batraoui: But what comes next is murky and there is still a lot that needs to be worked out. Gaza needs tons of humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and Israeli forces still control more than half of Gaza's territory.
--:-- Ayah Batraoui: The ceasefire raising hope for a long truce in the region but unresolved issues remain including Hamas disarmament and how Gaza will be governed.
--:-- Rahul Bali: A one Democrat who became a Trump loyalist is running to be Georgia's top elections official.
--:-- Rahul Bali: From member station WABE, I'm reporting that Vernon Jones ran for Congress in 2022, repeating false claims that Georgia's 2020 election was stolen.
--:-- Rahul Bali: Vernon Jones is a longtime political figure in the Atlanta area, serving as the elected CEO of one of the state's biggest counties and as a Democratic state lawmaker.
--:-- Rahul Bali: Jones became a Republican in 2021 and has been one of Trump's higher-profile black surrogates.
--:-- Rahul Bali: In his campaign launch ad, Jones touts some of the same things Trump wants changed with elections and voting.
--:-- Rahul Bali: We need a secretary of state who will fight for paper ballots, limit mail-in voting, and enforce strong voter ID laws.
--:-- Rahul Bali: Jones is looking to replace incumbent Republican Brad Raffensperger, a key figure against Trump's efforts to overturn Georgia's 2020 election results.
--:-- Rahul Bali: Raffensperger is running for governor.
--:-- Raul Bally: For NPR News, I'm Raul Bally in Atlanta.
--:-- Juliana Kim: Thousands of flights have been delayed. Hundreds more have been canceled as a result of a nor'easter.
--:-- Juliana Kim: The storm began over the weekend and continues to drench parts of the Mid-Atlantic.
--:-- Juliana Kim: More than 5,000 flights have been affected so far with the most delays reported at Boston Logan International Airport and LaGuardia Airport in New York.
--:-- Juliana Kim: There were also nearly 900 U.S. flights canceled.
--:-- Juliana Kim: On social media, both airports advised passengers to check in with their airlines about their flights.
--:-- Juliana Kim: Over the past few days, a slow-moving storm slammed states along the East Coast, bringing fierce winds, coastal flooding, and power outages.
--:-- Juliana Kim: A state of emergency was declared in New Jersey and parts of New York.
--:-- Juliana Kim: The storm is expected to linger into Tuesday.

--:-- Jeff London: Broadway musicians have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike if negotiations with producers break down.
--:-- Jeff London: The move comes after a strike authorization by the union representing actors.
--:-- Jeff London: Talks between both unions and the Broadway League, the organization which represents producers and theater owners, are ongoing.
--:-- Jeff London: But coming on the heels of Broadway's most successful season ever, with a box office tally of close to $1.9 billion, the musicians' union says it's not interested in making concessions.
--:-- Jeff London: President Bob Stillman claims the League is threatening to cut wages, health care and jobs, stating, "Local 802 Broadway musicians and other artists are ready to leverage every ounce of their collective power up to and including a strike."
--:-- Jeff London: The Broadway League has said, "We always prefer to negotiate with our union partners at the bargaining table rather than in the press."
