Emergency podcast!

Main Topic: The podcast episode discusses the recent national emergency declaration by President Trump and its implications on the border wall funding, as well as the bipartisan spending bill that was passed to avoid another government shutdown.

Key Points:

• President Trump declared a national emergency to redirect $6.5 billion in funding to build a border wall, despite Congress not approving the funding.
• The move is likely to face lawsuits from House Democrats, landowners whose land could be seized for the wall, and the city of El Paso, Texas.
• The bipartisan spending bill passed to avoid another shutdown allocates $1.375 billion for border barriers, but explicitly prohibits funding for a concrete wall.
• The bill was met with mixed reactions from Democrats and Republicans, with some expressing disappointment that it did not address their concerns about border security and immigration.
• The episode also discusses the implications of the national emergency declaration on Trump's relationship with his party and the country's government functioning.
