--:-- Georgia Howe: I'm Georgia Howe, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
--:-- John Bickley: And I'm John Bickley, Daily Wire editor-in-chief, here with Georgia.
--:-- Georgia Howe: It's Friday, November 10th, and we've got the latest news for you.
--:-- John Bickley: New York Times, blood on your hands! New York Times, blood on your hands!
--:-- Georgia Howe: Hundreds of anti-Israel protesters took over Bryant Park in New York on Thursday, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.
--:-- John Bickley: Dozens of the protesters then took over the lobby of the New York Times office building in Manhattan.
--:-- Georgia Howe: They claim the media is biased against Palestinians and is promoting genocide.
--:-- John Bickley: An NYPD vehicle was also vandalized by the protesters who spray-painted the letters IDF and KKK and Free Gaza on the patrol car.
--:-- Georgia Howe: No arrests were made.
--:-- John Bickley: A jury found Johns Hopkins All Children Hospital liable for damages up to a million in the medical malpractice case of Maya Kowalski this week.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Kowalski, now 17 years old, was separated from her family for three months by health workers and child protective services contractors who accused her mother of fabricating Maya's condition.
--:-- John Bickley: The stress of the separation, which included severely restricted visitation and communication with the family, ultimately drove Maya's mother to suicide, the jury concluded.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The case is seen as a win for parental rights.
--:-- John Bickley: Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg traveled to Ukraine this week to meet with President Zelensky.
--:-- Georgia Howe: According to the Department of Transportation, the secretary was there to support investments in transportation infrastructure, which are funded by U.S. aid to Ukraine.
--:-- John Bickley: The trip comes as watchdog group Americans for Public Trust reported that Buttigieg has flown on private jets at taxpayer expense 18 times since 2022.
--:-- Georgia Howe: In response, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced an amendment to reduce the secretary's salary to $1 per year.
--:-- John Bickley: While implementing his tyrannical climate agenda through his office and preaching for the government to curb carbon emissions, Pete Buttigieg has reportedly taken at least 18 taxpayer-funded flights on private jets managed by the FAA.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The next GOP presidential debate will be hosted by former Fox host Megan Kelly and will air on fledgling network NewsNation.
--:-- John Bickley: The debate will happen on December 6th in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Kelly will be joined by former NBC host Elizabeth Vargas and Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Eliana Johnson.
--:-- John Bickley: Kelly said, quote, it will be the margarita of debates, spicy, fun, and somewhat intoxicating.
--:-- Georgia Howe: We'll be watching.
--:-- John Bickley: The defense attorney for the man accused of assaulting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer says he was driven by conspiracies when he broke into the Pelosi San Francisco residence last year.
--:-- Georgia Howe: During the Thursday trial, the attorney for David DePapp didn't dispute that her client attacked Paul Pelosi as the encounter was caught on camera.
--:-- John Bickley: She instead argued that DePapp believed that he was taking action to stop corruption and the abuse of children by politicians and actors.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The first human eye transplant has been completed and looks to be a success.
--:-- John Bickley: 46-year-old Aaron James of Hot Springs, Arkansas, lost his eye in a work high-power accident six months ago.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Surgeons at NYU Langone Hospital performed the transplant.
--:-- John Bickley: While James does not have vision in the transplanted eye, doctors say the retina and blood vessels appear healthy.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Getting your eight hours of sleep per night might not be as important as we've been told.
--:-- John Bickley: A new study published by The Sleep Journal shows that consistent sleep and wake times, which means going to sleep and waking up at the same hour each day, is more important to good health than how long you sleep.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Consistent sleep was shown to reduce premature death.
--:-- John Bickley: And analysts say the new Marvel Studio film titled The Marvels could see one of the lowest opening weekends in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Early predictions saw the film bringing in $75 to $80 million within the U.S., but the estimate soon shrank to a range between $60 million and $65 million in recent weeks.
--:-- John Bickley: Those are your drive home updates this afternoon.
