--:-- Georgia Howe: Welcome to Morning Wire, I'm Georgia Howe.
--:-- John Bickley: And I'm John Bickley, Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief. It's Wednesday, September 20th.

--:-- Georgia Howe: Attorney General Merrick Garland appeared today before the House Judiciary Committee for the first time in two years, and he was questioned about what committee chairman Jim Jordan called a two-tier system of justice. This comes at a time when the attorney general is heading up two cases against former President Trump in another case against the current president, Joe Biden's son, Hunter.
--:-- John Bickley: Republicans questioned the DOJ and FBI's priorities, especially regarding the criminal investigation of the president's son. Meanwhile, Democrats dismissed the allegations as a sham, and Garland defended the actions of the Justice Department.
--:-- Georgia Howe: I am not the president's lawyer. I will add, I am not Congress's prosecutor. The Justice Department works for the American people. Our job is to follow the facts and the law, and that is what we do.
--:-- John Bickley: You let the statute of limitations lapse for 2014-2015. Those were the years with the felony tax charges where Hunter Biden was getting income from Burisma. He was qualified to be on the board of Burisma. Not my words, his words. He said he got on the board because of his last name, the brand, as Devin Archer said when he was under oath and we deposed him.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The attorney general also claimed that he could not recollect having spoken with anyone in the FBI about the criminal investigation of Hunter.
--:-- John Bickley: President Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today for the first time since Netanyahu retook office last year. Prime Minister Netanyahu was a frequent visitor to the White House during the previous administration, and Israeli leaders are usually invited shortly after inauguration.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The delay in setting up a meeting by Biden and the administration's decision to have the meeting in New York instead of D.C. have been viewed by Israel as a sign of U.S. displeasure with Netanyahu's new government.
--:-- John Bickley: During remarks to the press before the meeting, the two leaders laid out some of their goals and spoke about the history of their alliance.
--:-- Georgia Howe: We're going to discuss some of the hard issues, and that is upholding democratic values that lie at the heart of our partnership, including checks and balances in our systems, and preserving the path to a negotiated two-state solution and ensuring that Iran never, never acquires a nuclear weapon.
--:-- John Bickley: We can forge a historic peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia. And I think such a peace would go a long way first to advance the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict, achieve reconciliation between the Islamic world and the Jewish state, and advance a genuine peace between Israel and the Palestinians. This is something within our reach.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Biden administration officials have been critical of Netanyahu's plan to overhaul Israel's judicial system.
--:-- John Bickley: Donald Trump Jr. was hacked today and according to his political advisor sent out several fake tweets. One of the posts falsely claimed that his father, former President Donald Trump, had died and that Donald Trump Jr. was now running for the Oval Office.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Another post appears to attack President Biden while also using a racial slur. The posts were taken down later.
--:-- John Bickley: Two Las Vegas teens are facing murder charges after authorities say they drove into a bicyclist on the side of the road, all while capturing the hit-and-run on video.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Vegas police say they've linked the teens to three other incidents similar in nature that occurred back on August 14th.
--:-- John Bickley: Police believe the latest incident, which left a 64-year-old retired police chief dead, was the latest hit-and-run the teens committed.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The video, recorded by the front passenger, shows the vehicle approaching the cyclist from behind. The driver and passenger laugh before steering toward and ramming the cyclist.
--:-- John Bickley: Clark County attorney Steve Wolfson says he's taken a personal interest in the case.
--:-- Georgia Howe: In the criminal justice system, if you are a minor and you are eligible to be charged with a crime of murder, you are automatically sent to the adult system. I am confident that that is what is going to happen in this case.
--:-- John Bickley: Police say the video of the fatal hit and run was brought to their attention after a local school resource officer was provided the video by a student.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Paramount Plus has removed a 2009 Russell Brand comedy special that comes amid sexual misconduct accusations made by four women over the weekend.
--:-- John Bickley: Brand adamantly denies all the allegations insisting that all the relationships were consensual. Brand says he's the victim of a coordinated attack by the legacy media.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The move by Paramount comes after YouTube demonetized Brand, blocking his ability to make money on the platform, and after his agent cut ties with him.
--:-- John Bickley: Lawmakers in California, along with truck drivers and union leaders, are urging Governor Gavin Newsom to sign legislation that would save drivers' jobs.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewell has more. The bill, if passed, would ban self-driving vehicles from public roads unless a human driver is on board.
--:-- John Bickley: This includes UPS delivery trucks all the way to massive semis. Supporters of the legislation say it would help put safety concerns at ease and would prevent a massive amount of truck drivers from losing their jobs to automation in the future.
--:-- Georgia Howe: The bill states that these rules would stay in place until at least 2029.
--:-- John Bickley: Republican lawmakers say this creates a safe environment to test self-driving capabilities.
--:-- Georgia Howe: Meanwhile, local media outlet KCRA reports that Teamsters members, public safety officials, and lawmakers demonstrated at the state capitol to encourage the governor to sign this bill.
--:-- John Bickley: The technology is not safe. The technology is not ready. Now what's going to happen when they put that unsafe technology in giant trucks, 10,000, 20,000, 80,000 pounds on the freeway, next to our kids, next to our families? Do we want that? No!
--:-- Georgia Howe: The governor has until October 14th to sign or veto the bill.
--:-- John Bickley: All right, those are your drive home updates this afternoon. To learn more about these stories, go to dailywire.com. And for more in-depth discussion of the biggest stories of the day, listen to our latest full episode of Morning Wire every morning.
